In most cases all the events in a competition can be put into a single file, but sometimes
it is necessary to split events into separate files. Typical situations are:
|
Competitor numbers for different events conflict
The early rounds of events with a large number of entrants may need to be processed
on two or more computers
The judge panels may differ between events
|
The Competition Management module is a separate program, which can be called up
from scrutelle
Details of all the events are read from Excel spreadsheets. It is recommended that
you save these examples and use them as templates for your own competition
events.xls
This file contains all the events for a single competition
Note that all the fields shown in BOLD must appear exactly as shown as
they are used by the program for validating the data
judges panel files
These files contain the Judges names and letters for each panel
competitors files
These files contain the Competitor Numbers and Names for each Event
There are a number of alternative formats as shown in
competitor-file-formats.xls
The couples names can be entered in Column B as in Format(1) or in Columns B to E
as in Format (3), which allows the spreadsheet to be sorted by surname
Formats(2) and (4) allows one competitor file for all events, with the event nos for
each couple specified in Columns D or G See example
Any data entered into the COUNTRY column will be included in brackets and
appended to the combined names
The functions currently available in scrutelle-CM are:
Generate Data Files
The program generates a complete set of data files for the competiton
(Note that, at present, byes have to added directly into scrutelle)
In the process the Start No in Column G of the events file is updated using
the data in the competitors files
Print Marking Sheets
This option will print a complete set of Marking Sheets for each judge collated
in the order required - ie one sheet for each dance, for each round of each event
that judge will be marking More Details
Each sheet is clearly labelled with:
the judge's name and letter
the event title and round number
the number of competitors to be recalled
Split
The first round of each event can be split and the judges marks entered into two
computers. The split function splits by competitors (Note that it is also possible to split
by judges using the copy file function within the main scrutelle program)
Merge Recalls
After entering the judges marks into two computers, the recalls can be merged and the
combined recall sheet printed
The Split & Merge Recalls options only appear if you have designated events
to be split in Column K of the events spreadsheet
