SCRUTELLE INSTALLATION IF YOU ARE INSTALLING SCRUTELLE VERSION FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THIS MACHINE, THEN ENTER CONTROL PANEL AND REMOVE ALL EXISTING VERSIONS OF SCRUTELLE If you are installing from CD: Insert the CD into the CDROM drive on your computer. Then open the CD drive using Windows Explorer Click on setup.bat If you are installing from scrutelle-install: Download and run the zip file on SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS This will create the following folders C:\scrutelle C:\scrutelle\program C:\scrutelle\program\v7 C:\scrutelle\program\v8 C:\scrutelle\data C:\scrutelle\install If you are installing from CD then copy the other files on the CD to C:\scrutelle\program\v8 Now go to C:\scrutelle\program\v8 and click on scrutelle.exe If you get the message "Cannot find file scrutelle.ini" then check that you have extracted/copied ALL the files into C:\scrutelle\program\v8 scrutelle should now run and display with the message "Program registered to Evaluation Version" You should now replace the evluation version of scrutell.ini with the fill licence file sent to you by email If you have registered for Competition Management and/or Results Module then confirm that you can open them from the top menu bar in scrutelle It is recommended that you create a separate sub-folder for each competition within C:\scrutelle\data If you want to keep your downloaded ZIP files put them into C:\scrutelle\install You may need to tweak your licence file scrutelle.ini This resides in the same folder as scrutelle.exe ===================================================== [CONTROL] Browser=C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe Excel=C:\program files\microsoft office\office\excel.exe LicenceCode=xxxxxxxxx WebDirectory=xxxxxxxxx Scrutineer=xxxxxxxxxx [RM] ResModule=xxxxxxxxxx [CM] CompManagement=xxxxxx [MARKSHEET DEFAULTS] Blanks=1-20 Numbers=21-50 Boxes=51-900 ===================================================== scrutelle help is provided via your browser.The default browser is Internet Explorer and is assumed to be in folder C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer. If this is not the case, then you should modify file scrutelle.ini as appropriate. You will then be able to view the help files by clicking on the help button within scrutelle scrutelle-RM uses Excel on your computer to display the spreadsheets that it creates. You may need to amend the path to Excel in scrutelle.ini If you want to place a shortcut icon for scrutelle onto your desktop, there are various ways of doing this. One is as follows: Using Windows Explorer go to C:\scrutelle\program\v8 Right click on scrutelle.exe Select Create Shortcut Select the new shortcut file with your mouse and drag it onto the Desktop Right Click the new Desktop Icon and select Rename Rename the Icon to Scrutelle
